This is a nice long hike that crosses back and forth over Bull Creek. Be prepared to get your feet wet. Beautiful falls about half way through. Lost the trail once or twice but quickly picked it back up.

Homeless people, naked people, stoned people, drunk people, bike cops, panhandlers, large dogs off leash, jovial hairy people making leather belts, did I mention how much I love Austin?
Shady hour long hike
Turkey Creek Trail - 8/1/2005  [View Log Page]
Rating: 3stars Difficulty: 2stars Solitude: 2point5stars
Distance: 2.50 Miles Duration: N/A
This is our favorite spot, free, get's the heart rate going and easy to access. Most people you pass have big friendly dogs. Crosses over a creek several times. Nice scenery.
Natural pool, picnic area, gardens
Krause Springs - 6/20/2005  [View Log Page]
Rating: 3point5stars Difficulty: 1star Solitude: halfstar

Nice area for camping and day trips. Rope swing and watery cave a must do. Great covered areas for picnics.
Pixies and Unicorns
Hamilton Pool - 6/20/2005  [View Log Page]
Rating: 5stars Difficulty: 2point5stars Solitude: 2stars
Distance: 1.00 Mile Duration: N/A
A 30 ft. waterfall into a half open cave. It's as if pixies and unicorns are going to come flying out of the forest. This is the most beautiful thing I have seen in Texas so far. A steep hike down to the pool and then a leisurely hike back to the river. Get there early as the park has a maximum on visitors and closes around 6pm. Nice day trip from Perdenales or Krausy Springs camping areas.
