Easy morning hike
Balcones Canyonlands NWR - Warbler Vista - 10/9/2004  [View Log Page]
Rating: N/A Difficulty: 2stars Solitude: 3point5stars
Distance: 1.80 Miles Duration: N/A
Nice views, traffic noise not that bad and nice drive out to the trailhead. If you see a crowd forming at the trailhead, just go a few hundred feet up the gravel road and take the marked trail to the left were the hiking trail exits the woods. You will be hiking in reverse order and maybe see some wildlife before the two-legged kind passes you from the other direction!!
For solitude go on week days or early on weekends
Bastrop State Park - Lost Pines Trail - 9/18/2004  [View Log Page]
Rating: N/A Difficulty: 2point5stars Solitude: 3point5stars
Distance: 4.00 Miles Duration: N/A
Miss the piney woods! This is the place to go! Explore the outer loops to leave the crowd behind and see more wildlife. Ponds are a great place to see cricket frogs and crawly things!
Nice wildlife hike. Little shade available.
South Llano River State Park - 9/5/2004  [View Log Page]

Bring plenty of water and sun screen. Many places to stop and observe the wildlife. Seems to have been an old ranch, windmill makes a nice backdrop for photos! Many blinds dot the park allowing you to stay hidden and escape the brutal sun, just check for critters first!
