I LOVE THIS PARK. I will be going back. My 5 year old son and I accompanied some friends to backpack the park for the weekend. We had a blast! I am very proud to say that my Son had no problem hiking to the summit. I on the other hand.... I will make sure it is a little cooler the next time we go.

A friend and I stumbled upon these trails a few years back while photographing wildlife. We had no idea there were trails in this area. “Hey, what is this trail doing here? Where does it go?” Next thing I know we are going to these trail three days a week for our own little “adventure”. I see deer every time we go. The blue bonnets and Indian paint brushes are thick. We have been chased by wild boar hogs. And we have even seen a few rattlesnakes on occasion. I absolutely love this area.

Man Weekend. Just us guys. We had fun even with the cold, wet, windy conditions. I will go back. The hiking was great. A step up from my other hikes. I love the size of the lake. Just big enough.
