Comments: I took the Loop Trail hike from the vehicle parking area to the Eagles's Nest camping area. The trail was not difficult and was rather short. I was doing a primitive camp but had arrived a little late for the longer route. The trail was well marked and was easy to see. I was impressed by the park rangers. One arrived at my campsite, I guess checking on her brood (us campers). She saw a fire site and immediately stated that was not legal. It was apparently set by some other camper(s) and was cold. The gnats were pretty bad that night. They enjoyed my lamp. I tried to "off" them but they apparently thought that must be alcohol and enjoyed themselves. The next morning I headed back to the vehicle with no difficulty. Walked a little through the riverbed, just a small stream back to the vehicle. Then hiked to the top of the Enchanted Rock, approximately 30 - 40 minutes. It is a beautiful view before heading back down and away to Austin.
