Comments: I wanted to visit Tawakoni after hearing that a group of spiders had built a huge web along one of the trails. It was worth the trip. The trails are mostly wooded, relatively flat, and well-maintained with one large meadow near the trailhead. The trails wander close to the shore, providing many places to fish or stop and enjoy the view. My main concern about the park was that the shore really appears to be eroding quickly. We didn't camp, but the camping areas looked nice. They each had a concrete pad and enough room between sites for a comfortable level of privacy. I think this is a newer park and may be better developed in coming years. If driving up from Dallas, I recommend the Blue Bird Cafe in Wills Point on your way too or from the park.
