South Shore - Playground parking area to Burkett Park - Short Loop

A Bleak Landscape
Spring is almost here but hasn't made much of an appearance in most of the park. Not the most scenic place in Texas but I enjoy hiking it nonetheless.

Comments:

Leg 1 -  Playground parking area > Horny Toad Trailhead > Horny Toad > Nature Trail > Lanky Lackey > WS to LL Connector > Burkett Park     3.3 miles

Leg 2 -  Burkett Park > Winding Snake > Chaparral > Red Dam Loop > Chaparral > Playground parking area   3.5 miles

Temp started at 60, ended at 70.  Sunny with steady WNW 10-20mph winds.

A short hike today along familiar trails.  There were very few birds or animals observed and there wasn't anythin else going on. The attached photo pretty much describes what there was to see but .... an uneventful hike at the park is still much better than a day in the office.

NOTES -

Water, shade, info kiosk, toilets and a bicycle repair station available at Playground Parking Area.

Water, shade, info kiosk and dry toilets available at Burkett Park.
