This is part of the North Concho River but with the water low, it is instead, a small pond.

Comments:

There was an info kiosk at the beginning of the service road but no water.

Wandered along the Shady Trail and service roads heading South then West before going North to the starting point.  Hard to describe the route !

Since we were walking on dirt service roads, we saw quite a few snake trails crossing from one side of the road to the other - fortunately, no snakes were encountered.

Hot and dry with little wind, the hike was uneventful.  We did have the opportunity to talk as we walked so that was a good thing.
