Javalina on Lanky Lackey
Saw a pair of adult javalinas at the northern end of Lanky Lackey. They were resting on the side of the trail but when they saw us, they got up and slowly wandered off.

Lots of "Firsts" -

1st hike of 2015,

1st log entry for 2015,

1st time wearing my new Hi-Tec hiking boots,

1st time in 2015 I fell on my ass from stepping on slippery mud,

1st time in 2015 we saw two javalinas up close and personal (photo attached),

so I consider this an auspicious start to the new year!
