Comments:

I finished the last section of the Lone Star Hiking Trail and I decided to go out with a bang.  Big miles!  The odometer on my GPS recorded 21.6 miles, but my track file only shows 20.9 miles.

It was a nice day, so I took the Little Lake Creek Loop Trail for extra distance and scenery.  The first half of this loop, however, was poorly maintained and it became a bit of a bushwhacking tour.  The grass was high and it took me through some wet areas, so I was glad I wasn't bitten by a snake.  I was also pleasantly surprised to find a grove of palmettos.  If Palmetto State Park should ever cease to exist, it could reopen here as they are just about the same number and density of palmettos along this loop.  I also ran into a few white tailed deer and a dozen or so wild pigs.  I then connected to the Pole Creek Trail and then returned on the Lone Star Hiking Trail.  My track file shows my route.

It was satisfying to finish the last section of the Lone Star Hiking Trail, especially since several sections were closed last year.  Now, I'm thinking of through-hiking the entire trail if I can find the time.
