Nice solitude...
Copper Breaks State Park - 7/22/2007  [View Log Page]
Rating: Difficulty: Solitude:
Distance: 8.00 Miles Duration: 4 hours
Bull Canyon and the Rocky Ledges Trail had especially nice scenery. The trail is really hot in the summer so the swim in the lake was VERY refreshing.
Red Hot Canyonlands
Caprock Canyons - Eagle Point Trail - 6/18/2007  [View Log Page]
Rating: Difficulty: Solitude:
Distance: 4.00 Miles Duration: 2 hours
Hiked this beauty in the Caprock Canyons around noon on a HOT June day. However this was the place to be as there were only two other people in the entire park. The trail starts off on the grassy edge of one of the canyons and descends down into it. The red dirt trail then meanders through the canyon passing several bluffs and creeks along the way until you reach Eagle Point, which is beautiful. This was one hot trail during the summer so be sure to pack plenty of water.
Enjoyable Adventure...
Palo Duro - Lighthouse Trail - 6/17/2007  [View Log Page]
Rating: Difficulty: Solitude:
Distance: 7.50 Miles Duration: 4 hours
This popular trail at the popular Palo Duro Canyon is not one for solitude but the trail itself is beautiful and can be difficult in spots too. We hiked passed the lighthouse formation into the back canyon for almost a mile before we turned around. There were some interesting "stonehenge" formations that we passed on the way.
Nice little hike
Lake Brownwood State Park - 5/28/2007  [View Log Page]
Rating: Difficulty: Solitude:
Distance: 2.00 Miles Duration: 45 minutes
In the area for memorial day and decided to check out the state park. Wasnt expecting much but the trail provided. The loop was pretty enjoyable despite its short length as there were several good chill spots and scenic overlooks along the way. Followed the edge of the lake and there were many wildflowers in bloom. Only real complaint would be the abundance of boats blasting music but this was to be expected.
Interesting walk...
McKinney Falls State Park - 5/22/2007  [View Log Page]
Rating: Difficulty: Solitude:
Distance: 0.80 Mile Duration: 15 minutes
The rock shelter was interesting, as was the HUGE bald cypress tree.
