I went for my usual hike this morning along the west side of the creekbed which runs parallel to Parkwood Subdivision. These are the earthen trails which I prefer as they offer more solitude. But, they also offer more hazards, I heard a noise down by my feet and looked down in time to see a Coral snake (not a King snake) scurry off. I almost stepped on it. So, having read this, enjoy the off the paved trail hikes but watch where you are walking ! Also, poison ivy is plentiful so if one plans to leave the trail through the brush beware !
