Comments: We arrived at the park at 8am when it opened. It was still cool and there was a good breeze. Yesterday it was 86 degrees so we wanted to hike early before it got hot. We parked at the Park Headquarters which is at the top of the hill. We then hiked down the nature trail to the Prairie Dog town. There were mounds, but no prairie dogs were out. We then hiked back up the hill to the headquarters and walked the park roads the run around the perimeter of the park. This might as well have been a wide hike/bike trail because we met no cars on the road. We did meet 3 joggers and 4 other walkers. There is a very nice overlook of the town of Big Springs from this State Park.
