Out     -  Burkett Park > Burkett Trail > Trailhead to Trailhead (N) > Flintstone Trail (N) > Cougar Overlook        3.3 miles

Return -  Cougar Overlook > service road (SSW) > Trailhead to Trailhead (S) > Burkett Trail > Burkett Park      3.2 miles

Temps started at 69 and ended at 80, sunny with strong and steady 20-30 mph NE winds.

Todays hike was along dry and easy to traverse trails and roads.  VERY strong winds kept most of the wildlife in place; we spotted a single raptor as well as a single white tail deer.  Otherwise, the birds stayed low for the most part and there were no other animals spotted.  A snake was seen crossing the road but no identification was made with the exception that it wasn't a rattler.

More wild flowers are blooming and there are more cactus blooms as well - the vast majority of the cactus blooms are yellow or very pale yellow with a greenish tint,

Water, shade, info kiosk and dry toilets available at Burkett Park.  Toilets are OPEN at this time.
