Hot And Boring

View Of The Trail
Many of the trails are rocky, hard to walk on, and can lead to sore feet. Use good footwear.

Comments:

This hike spans all or some of the River Trail, Lemons Ridge Pass Trail, and Cedar Chopper Loop Trail, and a road walk back to camp.  Rather than break up my hike for each trail, which would be a lot of unnecessary, self-inflicted work, I will make one single log entry here.  Hopefully, in the future, a single park like this one won't be split into 11 separate locations!

The goal of this hike was to get some hill work and additional mileage in.  It was very hot (close to 100 degrees) and there wasn't anything particularly scenic on this hike.  I started my hike along the River Trail, then took the Lemons Ridge Pass up the hill and out to and around the Cedar Chopper Loop.  On my way back to camp, I chose to take the unimproved dirt road for a change of scenery rather than backtrack.  Overall, the signage was very good and the trails were well-maintained.

A few notes about the park itself.  If you plan to camp here, there are no electrical hookups and water is limited, so be prepared for primitive camping.  There are some nice campsites along the river, but there's no shade there.  There are shaded spots up above, however.
