Another View Of The Trail
There are long boardwalks on some parts of the trail that take you to interesting spots like Frog Pond.

Comments:

Lake Livingston State Park is on scenic Lake Livingston.  There are a number of hiking and equestrian trails that run through the park in a "tangled mess".  Some of the trails are only open to equestrians.  I did not realize this until after my hike and I looked at the park map.  There are no signs posted on the trail that indicate they are for horses only, although these trails are wider and less developed than the hiking only trails.  Fortunately, I hiked in the late afternoon just prior to dusk and I did not run into any equestrians on the trail.

There isn't a lot to see, although the trail takes you to places like Duck Pond (where I did not see any ducks).  The Pineywoods Nature Trail and the Oak Flats Nature Trail do have a number of informative displays to help you learn more about the trees, habitats, animals, etc.

There are some other trails in the park that I did not hike for two reasons.  First, I ran out of daylight.  Second, the other trails mostly take you very close to and/or through campsites, so I did not want to hike through those areas early the next morning when people were sleeping or just getting up.  From what I could see on the map, the other trails didn't seem to provide anything compelling, except for a few places to view the lake.
