Comments:

Definitely worth taking the guided nature hike 10 am Saturday mornings. We were the only two that showed, so we got a private tour from the park ranger!

Other events in the park led by the educational park ranger: 8 pm Friday Owl Prowl (powerpoint presentation and search for owls), 8:30 am Saturday Birding, 12 noon Saturday Canoeing. There was also a geocaching event Saturday and fishing instructions Sunday morning, neither of which we did. Call the park for more details.

Quick notes on the trail:

- Interesting CCC pavilion. Much more interesting after you read / hear more about it (during the guided hike)

- Many spiderwebs over the trail if you go when no one has been for a while

- Lots of tree-diversity through the trail. Plenty of fascinating bald cyprus trees - especially in the creek beds.
