The Beech Woods Trail is a lollipop-shaped trail. It is actually a little longer than the stated distance. My GPS said it was 1.6 miles.

The trail was poorly maintained and, frankly, there wasn't a lot to see. It's just a walk in the woods. The park ranger later told me it used to be nice, but apparently it was hit hard by Hurricane Rita and never fully bounced back.

we walked to the loop and turned back because we found 7 ticks on us when we stopped at the bench. I assume due to the unkept trail covered in leaves and sticks...our worse hike to date
