We've already seen a list of the least visited national parks for those looking for fewer crowds. Which parks attracted the most visitors? Travel Awaits provides a list of the 20 most visited parks in 2021.

Blue Ridge Parkway in NC and VA came in first with 15.9 million visitors. Great Smokey Mountains NP had over 14 million guests. Not much solitude, at least at the normal hotspots.

Most of these visitors won't venture a half mile from a paved surface, if that. The article's included photo of the top spot is of a road, not a natural feature.

Even in these extreme examples there is some solitude to be found, for those willing to put in the work.
