Walnut Creek Closing Some Trails

Several trail segments in Walnut Creek Park will be closed through September. There is a trail closure map that details the segments affected.

The closures are due to work being done to connect Balcones Park with Walnut Creek and there will apparently be some heavy machinery in the are while this is done. As you can see from the map, there are still a bunch of trails that will remain open.

I went out last week and they hadn't actually closed anything, though I wouldn't ride a bike on the log loops.

Thanks for letting us know. I haven't hiked there yet, but I've heard some good things about Walnut Creek so it's on my list! :)

17 miles of trails so bring a map. I use the one from the Austin ridge riders site.
