When I first saw the title of this story about the naming of Mount Bonnell I was afraid it was going to be another controversy about what some historic figure did and why he didn't deserve to have anything named after him. Kind of refreshing that the controversy is over which Mr. Bonnell should be credited with the namesake.

I was surprised that it was as late as 1969 before they had picked anyone for the name. I thought they would have selected one long ago.

Look at the bright side. At least they didn't name it Mt. Smith. :)
