With the previously promised sporting goods sales tax revenue finally making it to state parks, plans are being hatched to repair and improve the system across the state.

Well, it was fun while it lasted!

As politicians are prone to doing, they've raided the cookie jar and Texas parks are once again feeling the pain.

California's got its own set of issues with parks financing, so much so that many "state" parks are no longer managed and maintained by the state at all. They are state parks in name only.

The list of deferred maintenance projects at Texas state parks will grow once again as the legislature chooses to starve the department of money that was supposed to be earmarked for it. And this during a time when the country is not in a recession!
